Fittleworths are unreliable and incompetent. On Monday they told me my 4 boxes of Catheters were definitely going to be with me on Thursday. On Wednesday they left a voicemail saying that they would now not be delivered and if I needed them before Christmas to call. I called and was told that they didn’t have the kind I needed in the right size. I suggested that they could send the larger size which I could use. I was told that they had these in stock so he would check with the nurse and call me back. Having heard nothing, I called on Thursday morning. The lady said that she was in England and would have to speak to the Scottish office and would call me back. Having again heard nothing by lunchtime, I called back. The lady told me that everything was okay and I would get the 4 boxes on Friday. Less than 2 hours later, someone called to say that they didn’t have the 4 boxes after all, but that they had 2 boxes of a suitable alternative and 1 box of what was originally ordered. They were coming from different depots so there would be 2 packages. I said again that they had to be the kind I needed and she said that they were. At 17:50 tonight a delivery van pulled up with 2 boxes. One of the boxes looked like the right thing, the other certainly was not. I opened the box of catheters and yes they were the right size, but they were the wrong type! The other box was some poor person’s starter pack, they probably had my catheters. I phoned Fittleworth and told I was first in the queue. Eventually someone answered. I started to tell them what had happened but the phone went dead. I phoned back but the answer machine said that they were closed. As this is Christmas weekend and I need the catheters, I went to the local hospital and eventually a doctor found me 8 of the right type which added to the ones I have will do 4 days. I will have to use the catheters more than once which will increase the risk of infection. This experience of Fittleworth shows that some employees just give the answer that you want to hear and some are just incompetent. I must say that this has certainly put a damper on my Christmas celebrations. I had to give 1 star above, but the way that I am feeling I would like to give none.
