My colostomy surgery was on 3rd May 2024, so I'm in the early days. I'm very pleased with my Stoma after years of humiliating faecal leakage. My colostomy surgery was on 3rd May 2024, so I'm in the early days. I'm very pleased with my Stoma after years of humiliating faecal leakage. Here in Chelmsford, there are 3 Stoma nurses who are very helpful and will continue to look after us for the rest of our lives. They and Broomfield Hospital are using Fittleworth products. I have recently had soreness problems with the skin round my Stoma. There wasn't anything in my Fittleworth kit to help. So a Stoma nurse kindly posted some barrier film sachets from Pelican Healthcare Ltd, and they did calm down all the skin round my Stoma, as the area where the bag sticks onto skin stopped the itching. fittleworth also provides dry cloths to be moistened with tepid water to clean the Stoma area once the bag is removed. When I ran out I've been using baby Aveeno Wipes which se3m to be much better for my skin. I'm finding it difficult to avoid wrinkles in the area that sticks on my skin, because that part of my body isn't flat.I believe that there' are other bags (not fittleworth) that help with this. I'm 78 years old and my skin is sensitive. In 2021 I was diagnosed by a dermatologist that I have Lichen Sclerosus and this has increased skin sensitivity all over. Many thanks for your interest, Jennifer
